I earned my PhD in Anthrozoology from the University of Exeter in
2023. My doctoral research focused on discourses surrounding roaming
cats (Felis catus) and cat-human relations. Other academic areas of
interest include more-than-human families, domestication, griefwork,
animal representations, Mediterranean street cats and tourism,
humano-cat cultures, and interspecies cultural co-creation. Since 2019,
I have authored or co-authored over 19 peer-reviewed papers or book
chapters and presented my research to a range of audiences. I am a
trustee of the Society for Companion Animal Studies (SCAS), a board
member of the International Society of Anthrozoology (ISAZ), co-editor
of Sloth: A Journal of Emerging Voices in Human-Animal Studies, co-founder
of Anthrozoology as International Practice (AIP) and The Anthrozoology
Podcast, and founder of the Cat Academic Think Tank (eCATT). As a
visiting professor at the University of Hradec Králové (UHK), I
developed and delivered an undergraduate level class titled “An
Introduction to Anthrozoology/Human-Animal Studies” (2024-2025). I
continue my affiliation with UHK as a research associate and member of
an international research team project, funded by the Philosophical
Faculty (FF-UHK). I am currently searching for an academic home in
Germany (or possibly elsewhere in Europe) where I can establish myself
as a faculty member and/or apply for external funding.
