Marie Josephine Bennett
Marie Josephine Bennett graduated from Royal Holloway, University of
London, with a B. Mus (1st class hons) and received her PhD from the
University of Winchester in November 2021. Her main areas of interest
are Hollywood film musicals; music in film; popular music of the
1960s-1980s; the Eurovision Song Contest; and Freddie Mercury/Queen.
Marie co-edited the volume Embodying the Music and Death Nexus:
Consolations, Salvations and Transformations (Bingley: Emerald Publishing
Limited, 2022) and has contributed articles and chapters on music and
film to various publications since 2015. She is one of the editors of the
Inter/Connexions publishing series.

Lecturer of Music and Sound
and programme leader in
Music Production at Edge
Hill University in Ormskirk,
England. He also serves as
executive director of the
Society for the Study of
Sound and Music in Games
(SSSMG). He is author of
Audiovisual
Alterity:
Representing Ourselves and
Others in Music Videos(Oxford
University Press, 2024). His
research primarily focuses
on music and sound in
emerging and interactive
media.
