Jack Jack
Sam Pollacco
Sam is currently studying for a Masters in Music
at Royal Holloway, University of London. They
are an early-career ludomusicologist and
aspiring academic music researcher. Having
studied at University of Birmingham for their
undergraduate Music degree, their
postgraduate taught studies are currently
being supported by the Corky McGuinness Award for
Musicology. They also presented their research on sonic
depictions of characters in video games at the international
Ludomusicology2023 conference. Sam's particular research
interests include sonic coherence across video game series,
ethnography of musically vibrant participatory (fan) cultures. Outside
of research, they are a keen clarinetist, embroiderer, and aspiring
crazy cat lady.
Samantha Bennett
Samantha Bennett is Chair of the International Association for the
Study of Popular Music (IASPM) and Professor of Music at the
Australian National University. She is the author of Modern Records,
Maverick Methods, Peepshow, and co-editor of Critical Approaches to the
Production of Music and Sound.
Samantha Marley
Samantha Marley is currently a casual musicology lecturer at the
University of Western Australia. She holds a Master of Musicology from
the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests centre on popular
music studies, with a particular interest in Taylor Swift as shown in her
recent publication “Popular Music Ontology (Taylor’s Version):
Re-Recordings, the Rock Ideology, and Taylor Swift,” as well as popular
music’s uses in film and musical theatre.
